COMPLETED: South Asian Author Challenge

I’m thrilled to say I’ve completed the South Asian Author Challenge – I’m really happy with the 10 books I read for it.  However, there are many more books by South Asian authors that I still want to read, so I’m going to continue keeping track of the books I read on my Challenges page.

January 1, 2010 – December 31, 2010

1. The Palace of Illusions – Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
2. Bombay Time – Thrity Umrigar
3. One Amazing Thing – Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
4. Atlas of Unknowns – Tania James
5. Fury – Salman Rushdie
6. Sea of Poppies – Amitav Ghosh
7. Secret Daughter – Shilpi Somaya Gowda
8. Cutting for Stone – Abraham Verghese
9. Unaccustomed Earth – Jhumpa Lahiri
10. Leaving India – Minal Hajratwala

Great job! I completed the easier version with only reading 3 books. But, I am continuing to read more that would qualify...

I was just thinking about this challenge last night. I'm loving it.

I just started Secret Daughter last night. Man, it drew me RIGHT in. I have a feeling that this day is going to be lost in the pages.

This is my 5th, which was my goal, but I also said that I hoped to up it to 7 or 10, which I will do, because there are others I definitely want to read.

(I think you know this, but I am the same Jennifer that's at 5 Minutes for Books -- look forward to meeting you soon!)

Thank you for the list! I've just read three of them and would love to see what the others are about.

I went back to re-read some of your reviews and found them wonderful. Atlas of Unknowns and Secret Daughter were two books I needed to know a little something more and you provided it beautifully. Thanks
