Read-A-Thon: Wrap-Up Post

Well, another read-a-thon has come and gone!  I have to admit, I didn’t really put a priority on reading as much as I possibly could this time.  That’s not to say I wasn’t satisfied with my progress, I’m very happy with how I did!  But I didn’t want to burn out on blogging or reading, plus I wanted to spend time with my husband.  If I lost interest in reading for awhile, I got up and hung out with my husband.  As a result, I feel like I had a lot of fun, and I also got a great number of books read.  I actually quit in hour 17 (though the lovely read-a-thon people picked me as a “reader of the hour” in hour 20 since I didn’t post that I wasn’t reading – whoops!).  I watched another movie with my husband and had all intentions of coming back after it was over, but I was exhausted by that point.

I'd stay that you still pretty much rocked the Readathon. Sometimes I think that getting up and spending a little time with loved ones helps you read a lot more when you return. It is easier to read energized than burned out.

I'm amazed by how much you managed to read! I would have been happy reading a third of that if I had participated, but I would have had to make reading a huge priority! Congrats on all your reading! :D

Great stats. I think I read on avg about 3 pages per min. That is if I dont have any distractions. Great Job.

I am always amazed to see your reading speed but this time in spite of taking breaks you've still managed to read so much, great Job Swapna :)

Awesome job!!! And I think you made the event work for you and your family -- and that's important and keeps it fun.

I mentioned this on Jen's wrap-up, too - I need to schedule one of these marathons for myself. My TBR pile grows much faster than I read. And I want to read all the books RIGHT NOW!! LOL And right afterward I need to schedule a review-writing marathon!

I'm so in awe!

You totally kicked butt on the read-a-thon!

I think making the event fun and without any real pressure makes all the difference. The 24 hours is obviously a goal not a steadfast rule. :)

Congratulations!
