Thursday Tunes – Kal Ho Naa Ho

Welcome to the Thursday Tunes! Each week, I will showcase music, whether new or old. Hopefully you will find something that interests you here!

I'm really excited to feature another Indian album on this week's Thursday Tunes.  This time, it's the soundtrack to the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho, which was a huge hit a few years ago.  While I did enjoy the movie quite a bit, I absolutely adored the soundtrack.  I think every song on this album is good, and they are all very different

The title song, "Kal Ho Naa Ho," is beautiful, yet wistful - after all, loosely translated it means "tomorrow may never come."  "Mahi Ve" is a song that will make you want to dance - the beat of this one is absolutely amazing!  "It's Time to Disco"is a great Indian disco song - very clever, and "Kuch To Hua Hai" is a really cute, playful song.  "Pretty Woman" is indeed a Hindi remake of the Roy Orbison song, and I think it's a lot of fun.  My two favorite tracks off this album are the first two - "Kal Ho Naa Ho" and "Mahi Ve."

Kal Ho Naa Ho can be purchased from the Amazon MP3 Store for $6.99.

I think Pretty woman could be one of the very few songs that was made after the rights to the original song was bought. Considering how bolywood guys steal ideas left, right and center without crediting them, I found this really surprising :)

Usually my favorite tunes on an album are the dance-able ones, but I love heartbeat most. Peaceful.

The title track is ageless... There is a certain kind of hope in the song that livens me up!
Love it!!

What a great pick! I love this soundtrack. Especially the title track, the instrumental and of course, "Maahi Ve". (No wedding is complete without it!)
