Welcome to the Thursday Tunes! Each week, I will showcase music, whether new or old. Hopefully you will find something that interests you here!
This week, I’m featuring the artist Damien Rice. His debut album O, released in 2003, is simply beautiful. It’s one of my favorite albums of all time! The song The Blower’s Daughter was featured in the movie Closer starring Clive Owen, Julia Roberts, Natalie Portman, and Jude Law.
Though O is readily available in stores, it’s unfortunately not available for download from Amazon MP3, so I can’t give you a preview. Instead, I added songs from Damien Rice’s live album Live from Union Chapel so you can get a sense of what his music sounds like! My favorite song off this album is The Blower’s Daughter, but Cannonball is also a great one. Live From Union Chapel can be purchased from the Amazon MP3 Store for $7.92 and O can be purchased from Amazon.com for $11.97.

Aw, I love Damien Rice. <3
I swear to goodness, Swapna, I think you're my music twin! :)
I adore Damien Rice... as you mention, I discovered him through "Closer" and his gorgeous song "The Blower's Daughter." I used to listen to it on repeat in college when working on papers... it's so soothing and heart-breaking and gorgeous. All of his music is that way!
His album "9" has "Coconut Skins," another of my absolute favorite songs ever. I don't have "Live From Union Chapel"... think I need to invest now! :)
I love his song "Delicate."
I love Damien Rice, too!
I love the Blower's Daughter - what a beautiful song! Great pick for Thursday Tunes!
Damien Rice!! <3
I was obsessed with O when it first came out, but I haven't listened to him in a long while. I think I will very soon.
