Thursday Tunes – She & Him

Welcome to the Thursday Tunes! Each week, I will showcase music, whether new or old. Hopefully you will find something that interests you here!

This week’s Thursday Tunes features the band She & Him, which is composed of M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel, who does the vocals. Their first album, Volume One, is entirely cover songs in which Deschanel and Ward reinvent old classics. They do so effortlessly – the songs are fun, catchy, and beautiful. Deschanel’s voice is surprisingly good! My favorite song off this album is “Why Do You Let Me Stay Here,” but “This is Not a Test” is a close second. Volume One can be purchased from the Amazon MP3 Store for $9.99.

Thanks for sharing!

I, too, do a Thursday music spotlight. This week, I am doing Annie Lennox... an old favorite!

I bought this album a few months ago and it is really great! I think "This Is Not a Test" is my favorite song on it. Deschanel has a very classic vocal style and the songs that are on the album are perfect for her.

I also love this album! And Why Do You Let Me Stay here is definitely my favorite on it. I saw them on Letterman or Conan or something one night and had to find the album the next day.

I LOVE this album and now that Volume 2 is out I'm even more in love with She and Him.
