Sunday Salon

The Sunday Salon.com

Well, this weekend has been eventful to say the least!  My cousin (who lives in the DC area) graduated from high school, and her parents threw her a graduation party.  A lot of my family is in town for the occasion.  I’m enjoying hanging out with family and having my parents visit, but I know that I’m going to have to work extra hard for the next couple of weeks – I leave for the UK two weeks from Tuesday!

I have two book clubs today, one discussing Into the Beautiful North by Luis Alberto Urrea and the other (meeting for the first time) discussing The Way Home by George Pelecanos.  Though I haven’t been in book clubs for very long, I am thoroughly enjoying my experiences with them!

This week, I participated in Wordless Wednesdays.  My Thursday Tunes this week featured Charlotte Martin.

Books I’ve read this week:

The Penny Pinchers Club – Sarah Strohmeyer

What Was Lost – Catherine O’Flynn

The Widow’s Season – Laura Brodie

The Angel’s Game – Carlos Ruiz Zafon

The Book of Lies – Brad Meltzer

Tuscan Holiday – Holly Chamberlin

Perfection – Julie Metz

The Buenos Aires Broken Hearts Club – Jessica Morrison

Into the Beautiful North – Luis Alberto Urrea

Other reviews I’ve posted this week:

Vision in White – Nora Roberts [review]

The Painter from Shanghai – Jennifer Cody Epstein [review]

The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane – Katherine Howe [review]

My Cousin Rachel – Daphne du Maurier [review]

Water Ghosts – Shawna Yang Ryan [review]

English as a Second Language – Megan Crane [review]
