Book Giveaway - Your Roots Are Showing

It's that time again! So, for my next book giveaway, I had to dig into the archives a bit. I finally settled on Your Roots are Showing by Elise Chidley, an enjoyable chick lit book that I definitely recommend! [review]

So, to enter. In the spirit of the title, leave me a comment on this post telling me your favorite plant. Mine is the orchid, but yours doesn't have to be a flower - it can be a tree, or even a piece of shrubbery! (Yes, I did mean that as a Monty Python joke, but I don't think I pulled it off.) Please make sure you answer the question in your comment or your answer won't be an entry!

For a second entry, blog about the contest and link back here. For a third entry, Stumble a review of mine and leave a comment telling me which review you Stumbled. (Don't know what StumbleUpon is? Go here for an explanation.)

Unfortunately, due to shipping costs, this contest is open to US & Canada only. Giveaway ends on Monday, March 9 at 11:59 PM. Good luck!

I got the Python joke, of course! Actually, even before you said that it was supposed to be, I could hear that high-pitched English accent...

Hopeless, I know.

No need to enter me. I'm just dropping in to say thanks for the mail. I've got it posted at Win a Book.

Looks like a good read. My favorite plant is the Orchid as well. I had the green orchids in my bouquet at my wedding with some daisies, which are my second favorite!

I would love to be entered, and I've popped the giveaway in my sidebar.

Hi, I found your blog through another blog. I will add it to my favs. so I can keep coming back.

I have been wanting to read this book!!!
One of my favorite plants are African Violets. I am not a real house plant person, but I love African Violets and they seem to flourish under my care. And I love that I can have constant flowers all year round even in the winter.

Please enter me in your contest.

I love Moon Flowers, aka Angels' Trumpets. They come in a variety of colors now but when I had the big bushes on white ones, my then 1&1/2 yr. old daughter would point at them & say MOON MOON in an adorable baby banter way. They grew wonderfully in the hot Texas sun until my dearest husband got tired of the roots spreading everywhere, and he TORE THEM OUT! 5 years later, I still refuse to garden. Why cultivate and sow when it will just get torn out?!
{love your blog!}

My favorite plants would be Tiger Lilies. I remember when I first came back to NY seeing these majestic flowers growing along side the back roads. At first I thought someone had just planted them haphazardly along their property. I soon discovered they bloomed in abandon all over the countryside. Today I have them growing in abundance in numerous gardens of my own.

Thanks for the opportunity to enter! Indigo

The park in my hometown has a beautiful weeping willow--I love the way the branches form a half-hidden alcove in the middle of the park.

Stacie said...

picking my favorite plant is so hard...I love watching the tulips, daffodils and crocus peeking through the ground in the spring, but my favorite would have to be the Stargazer Lily. My Great Aunt Emily grew them at her house and she was one of my absolute favorite people in the world and died at the age of 96. So, now I have them in my garden and when I smell them, I instantly think of her.

I have heard no buzz about this book at all, despite your great review and the really beautiful cover.

One of my favorites, I'd have to say, is the Venus fly trap. So entertaining compared to most other plants which do nothing to sing for their supper.

Honestly...I cannot hear or read the word "shrubbery" without hearing it in an English accent. :) And my favorite plant is lavender. It is a lovely color and has such a soft aroma. I have always wanted to have some lavender growing in the yard, but I saw a film where lavender caused scorpions to come about so I nixed that idea. :) Thank you for the great giveaway. Love chick lit. :)

Love the Monty Python reference! Here's a type of ornamental shrubbery, which is also a great Scrabble word - QAT, that's right, no U !

My favorite plant this time of year has to be the crocus, a sure sign of spring when it emerges!

I love lilac bushes, although they are only beautiful for a few weeks a year, they are what makes spring for me, with their heavy fragrance and over-abundance of blooms. I'm living too far south for lilacs (although I'm tempted to try) and I miss them.
