Done WIth Finals!

I just wanted to make the announcement that I am officially finished with my finals! I had two papers (my topics were (1) Why Did the Cold War End? and (2) Why did Turkey and Iran both start out with similar governments and end up so differently?) They were actually really interesting to write, but required a TON of research, as you can probably imagine. I also had a take-home final.

I'm hoping to get caught up with reading pretty quickly, as I have a decent amount of time since I have nothing to do but errands and basic household stuff. But I have to say, I'm certainly glad to be done!

Now that finals are over, you'll probably read 3 books a day instead of just 1.

Yaaaaaay! You're done-that's awesome. I agree with bermuda though-how many books are you going to make it through now. lol.

That's such a sense of relief isn't it. And I agree with Dar and Bermudaonion - you'll be posting 3 reviews a day!

wow congrats on surviving finals! Those do sound like interesting topics. What was your take on why the cold war ended?

My take was that it ended for multiple reasons (of course) but that the primary reason was Gorbachev. I defined it as an ideological and military conflict, and said that Gorbachev was the only one to affect both areas.

Krishna: Great assessment. Here's hoping you get an A! :) I posed a similar theory in undergrad.
