Midnight's Children - the Movie?

The Guardian reports that Salman Rushdie has paired with Indian director Deepa Mehta to bring his Booker Prize winning novel Midnight's Children to theaters. Filming is not scheduled to begin until 2010.

this is one movie i know i won't watch. how is it even possible??? i read about this a couple of days ago and i was horrified!
