I was shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of Michael Crichton, who succumbed to cancer today. He was 66.

My son called me to tell me this today and he hardly ever calls. It made us all sad. Michael Crichton was an author that we all enjoyed.
I was shocked by this too. I haven't read all his books, but the ones I have read, I did enjoy. Not to mention I love ER!
Me too. Very, very sad.
I was stunned to hear of his passing. Such a sad day. I have a few of his books that I haven't read yet, and several that I wanted to re-read this year. On one hand that comforts me a bit, on the other, I think it's going to be hard to read them now.
may his soul rest in peace
Oh my gosh! How did I miss this? May he rest peacefully.
