Wow my favorite book set in another country...hmmm...there are many...how about Douglas Abrams' Lost Diary of Don Juan, which is a recent read for me....or an old read...Crime and Punishment.

I've got a list of them.

I'd love to be entered and will post your contest in the sidebar.

I have to go with Jhumpa Lahiri's The Namesake -- and I hope it counts, because it's only partially set in India! :) But it's one of my favorite books of all time. I need to read it again!

I'd love to be entered! My e-mail is writing.meg [at] gmail [dot] com. Thank you!

Wow, hard question! I definitely agree with writemeg that's a good one! I'm looking through the books I read this year and a lot of them take place in England! This is a totally lame answer but I think I have to go with Harry Potter, it's another country and another world! Love it!

What fun! All of my favorite books are set in another country. Although I usually prefer fiction, I recently read Tears of the Desert and it is absolutely fabulous. Read it if you haven't.

I have to say The Kite Runner. It was an eye-opening read. I really enjoyed your review--it sounds like an interesting read about the interaction between sisters. I only have brothers, so I like to read about sisters sometimes!

This is a great question - and a hard one! My favorite would have to be the Harry Potter series but the most recent read that I really enjoyed is the The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society set in England and the island of Guernsey. It was such a good book. Thank you for your contest and I'm adding this to my blog.

That's weird - I was going to say the same exact thing as the commenter above me: People of the Book. I like The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series, though, too. :)
