Sad news for those of us book lovers in the DC area. It appears that Olsson's Books and Records has closed the doors of all of its locations. The stores faithfully served the DC area for 36 years.

That is sad. The big chains are just running the little guys out of business, but of course, we're helping them. That said, I'm going to my local independent bookstore for a book signing tonight.
Aww that is sad. My grandparents have taken me to a lot of bookstores in the DC area but that one doesn't sound familiar. Sounds like it was a great place though :(
I really feel sad when smaller bookstores run out of business.. they are so much more personal and make book buying such a memorable experience!
I saw that this morning in Shelf Awareness. It's such a shame. I have such fond memories of Olsson's from when I lived in DC for 3 months.
It is a sad day when any book store closes...I am so sorry!

One of my absolute favorite used bookstores (they also sold movies, CDs, records, and comic books) recently closed too :(
