The Opposite of Love + Anne Hathaway!

Have any of you read The Opposite of Love by Julie Buxbaum? I haven't, but it's been on my TBR shelf for awhile.

Well, interesting news. It looks like the beautiful Anne Hathaway has been signed to play the lead role in the movie! I didn't even know it was being made into a movie, but now I'll have to move it up on my TBR list so I can read it before the movie comes out!

Does finding out a book is being made into a movie have any affect on if/when you read the book?

I prefer reading books prior to experiencing the film. I think it mostly has to do with laziness and if I see it on film part of my brain thinks: "Well, I've already kind of, sort of (okay - not really) 'read it.'"

I read it back in the spring because the ARC had been on my shelf forever. It was pretty good as chick lit goes, but I don't remember too much about it. I guess that tells you something, also. I do think it will be a cute movie.

Hmmm...sort of. I have to decide if I want to read the book or watch the movie. In this case, I will watch the movie. :)

You are just like me! If I find out a book that is interesting to me is going to be a movie i try to read it first. If it just looks ok I'll probably just see the movie and then if the movie convinces me to read the book I might! I love books into movies. I heard Queen of Babble was going to be a movie... I bought the first two books haven't read them yet!

If I discover a book is being made into a movie, if its something I'm interested in I'll make sure I've read the book before seeing the movie. Because of my eye disease I have trouble seeing moveis on the big screen, there isn't a lot of pressure to get the book read, because I have a while before it comes on dvd. Smaller screens are easier for me to see.

Anne Hathaway is so pretty! It really depends on the movie and/or book whether or not I try to read it first. I do love books made into movies (especially older ones) though.

O I totally try and read the book before the movie. Although sometimes I'll love a movie and then find out it's from a book and I'll check it out. Like I want to read Practical Magic now.

I don't usually see the movies that are made from books I enjoy. But if I think the movie may be a big hit, I do try to read the book (assuming it's something close to what I like) so that I can at least talk about it with the folks who see the movie.
