Best Blogging Tip - BBAW

I have been trying to keep up with the wonderful BBAW events going on, but unfortunately, school has gotten in the way...but today I am going to participate!

My Friend Amy asks us to answer two questions:

What is one thing you wish you knew about blogging when you started or what advice would you give a newbie blogger?

Honestly, I wish I knew how much time it would take up. I'm not saying that had I known, I wouldn't have started blogging, but it's about so much more than just writing down a few words each day. First, you have to actually read enough books to be able to review them on a regular basis, which can really be a challenge. Second, you have to spend time on other people's blogs in order to learn how it's done, and what people like and don't like. It takes up a lot more time than I originally anticipated, and while I wouldn't trade it for the world, it is very time consuming!

What is your best blogging tip?

My best blogging tip would be to pay attention to other blogs. Make friends in the book blogging community! Others are there to help you, and you can learn a lot from posting at other people's blogs. It's also a great way to generate traffic at the beginning.

Yes, I definitely agree - I wish I knew how much time was a factor in blogging and reading blogs. Sometimes I get so carried away reading blogs that before I know it the evening has slipped away. LOL

I am a newbie and it is true. I get carried away. I do neglect certain things, like house work. It becomes a addictive passion. What happened to the real purpose. Sharing the love of books. Instead of reading I am reading blogs. And I am new to this.

I agree it's time consuming, but it's fun and a great way to know more friends! :)

My advice was very similar to yours in terms of getting involved in the book blogging community.
