Wedding Pictures!

Ok, so I have had a ton of requests for wedding pictures. Let me just say that the reason I haven't posted them yet is that I don't have the digital copies of the professional ones yet. My photographers, while amazing and entirely loveable, are a two-man team that take a bit of gentle prodding to get stuff done. So, since I don't know when those digital copies will be arriving, I've decided to put up some pictures that my friends took to tide you guys over until the real ones arrive :-).

I've probably said this before, but I am Indian and my husband most definitely is not. It was really important to me to have an Indian wedding, but he wasn't really particularly set on having a Christian wedding. We were planning on doing two separate ceremonies, but quickly decided it would be too much hassle (and now I am SO glad we didn't do it - things have been hectic enough as it is!)

Ok, so here is a pretty good picture of the room setup. That's me onstage in red (the traditional Indian wedding color) with my husband in the white with the red scarf.

Close-up of the stage (called a mandap). We're up there with both our families:

And the happy couple:

And finally, at the reception cutting the cake (yes, we changed clothes, it's traditional):

I promise there will be many more once I get the rest of the pictures from the photographers, but in the meantime, enjoy!

Gorgeous! The first picture looks like it was taken by a pro. I've been to several Indian weddings (and am going to one this Sunday), and I just love the richness of the tradition and the beauty in the ceremony. Can't wait to see more!

You look lovely. I am getting nervous because I am also going to have two ceremonies at my wedding. I am sure that the day will be exhausting, but hopefully, it will all come together.

Beautiful! I haven't attended an Indian wedding, but I'd love to be a "fly on the wall" at a ceremony filled with such beauty and tradition.
