Whether you usually read off of your own book pile or from the library shelves NOW, chances are you started off with trips to the library. (There’s no way my parents could otherwise have kept up with my book habit when I was 10.) So … What is your earliest memory of a library? Who took you? Do you have you any funny/odd memories of the library?
My earliest memory of a library is when I was in elementary school. During the summer when we didn't have school, my mom would come home from work over her lunch break and drop us at the library. We'd sit quietly and read all afternoon until she came to pick us up after work was over! We used to take cheese and crackers (a big no-no now, but we lived in a smaller town and we were always very careful - the librarians never minded!) and enjoy them as our afternoon snack while we were reading. I loved those days - now I wish I had time to spend an entire afternoon reading in a library! I think these experiences contributed to why I love reading so much now.

What a good way to spend a summer afternoon.
I recently spent the day in the city (philly) library while my husband works. It has been fun and I think I will do it again. Not the same feeling when I was younger but it was still fun.
That is wonderful. I'd have loved afternoons in the library, but I think my brother would have protested. He was never much of a reader.
That's so cute! I think when I was really little I read at the library but after that I think I took everything home.
Sounds lovely. I'd like to spend my afternoons reading in the library!
