Upcoming Books

I was perusing Amazon.com today and thought I would share some of the upcoming books that I'm excited about:

Breaking Dawn
Stephenie Meyer
Release Date: August 2, 2008

This is the final book in the saga of Bella, Edward and Jacob. If you haven't read any of these books, start with the first in the series, Twilight - otherwise, you'll be lost!

Violet in Private
Melissa Walker
Release Date: August 5, 2008

This is the third book in the Violet series. This series is about a college-age girl (she begins the series in high school) named Violet who is discovered by a modeling agency, and the worlds she is torn between. The first book in this series is Violet on the Runway.

The Night Villa
Carol Goodman
Release Date: August 5, 2008

This book focuses on two women, one living in Italy at the time of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius (A.D. 79) and a classics professor named Sophie Chase. If you're curious about Carol Goodman, my review of The Drowning Tree is here.

The Other Queen
Philippa Gregory
Release Date: September 16, 2008

This book will focus on the captive years of Mary, Queen of Scots. Gregory's books are historical fiction that generally focus on the Tudors (specifically Henry VIII and Elizabeth I).

The Fire
Katherine Neville
Release Date: October 14, 2008

This book is the long-awaited sequel to Neville's bestseller, The Eight. If you haven't read The Eight, I recommend it - it is a book of mysteries and puzzles that was published long before The Da Vinci Code.

The Charlemagne Pursuit
Steve Berry
Release Date: December 2, 2008

Once again, Berry returns to Cotton Malone in his latest thriller. I'm not entirely certain what it's about, but I already know I want to read it. I just hope it's not a bit of a dud, like The Venetian Betrayal was.

Definitely take Love in the Time of Cholera on the honeymoon! And lucky you that your mom did the planning. I did most of mine, but since I live in Virginia and my wedding was in Kansas (I grew up in KC), we had a part-time wedding planner to help as well...but I was very laid back and didn't freak out about details. It sounds like you'd enjoy Altared also. When's the big day?

I'm patiently waiting for Breaking Dawn and The Other Queen. The Violet series sounds interesting-I'm going to check that out. Thanks for some interesting suggestions.

I would give my right arm for an ARC of The Other Queen. I'm tempted to post an open let to Simon & Schuster and see if it gets noticed. :)
