This week's Booking Through Thursday:
What, in your opinion, is the definition of a “reader.” A person who indiscriminately reads everything in sight? A person who reads BOOKS? A person who reads, period, no matter what it is? … Or, more specific? Like the specific person who’s reading something you wrote?
In my opinion, a "reader" is anyone who makes the time to read. We all lead busy lives, and plenty of people have come up to me and said, "How do you find the time to read so much? I love to read but I never have time!" Well, the answer is that it's important to me, so I make time. I think that if you make the time to read, even if you don't manage to read quickly or get through many books, you are a "reader."

When people who ask, "How do you find the time to read?" I answer, "The same way you find time to watch TV."
hey welcome to the meme! I agree koolaidmom people find time to do everything else but read. Its unfortunate too!
That's a really great definition! We make time for what's important to us.
As a very slow reader, I have to say I agree completely. It doesn't matter how fast you read - just read!
Great answer! I also have to make time to read, but it's worth it to do something I enjoy. :)
I agree - if you want to do something you'll always make time for it. I'm a reader. Glad to meet another one.
I like your answer! I get that too from people. They look at me funny like I must be a slacker because I'm a reader. I don't watch much tv and like you, I MAKE time for my reading. BTW, welsome to BTT! I look forward to reading more from you. Stop by my blog anytime!
Our priorities show what we care about.
Welcome to BTT! (This is only my 2nd week!)
I like how you adding making reading a priority, no matter how fast or how many books you read, part of your definition. That makes so much sense. I think between the lot of us we could re-write the dictionary entry for reader. Great post!
Great answer and welcome to BTT!
That is so true! People always ask me how I find the time to read so many books and proceed complain that they never have time - yet they do always seem to have plenty to watch TV! If they were readers, they would make time like we all do. Good answer! =)

I don't see how someone who loves to read couldn't manage to find the time. A reader will manage to find some time for reading no matter how busy they are.
